Baja Glamping ~ Cabanas Cuatrocuatros ~ Mexico

I'm a lover of all parts of Mexico, but Baja in particular is such a short jaunt from LA, it lives in a special category.  The wine country just outside of Ensenada has been tempting me lately, and Cabanas CuatroCuatros may have just pushed me over the edge! Two hours South of San Diego, which makes it only four hours from LA, this 14 cabana settlement - has it all figured out - and a winery to boot.

Each of the wood, cotton and steel luxury cabañas were installed with air conditioning, a mini bar, a fireplace, private baths and decks overlooking the vineyard - the only thing you won't have is a TV - but honestly, who needs it! If you are not comfortable driving across the boarder, the hotel can help schedule a pick up from San Diego, or if you are real fancy - there is a private airstrip for your private plane. Once you are there they can arrange sailing trips, surfing expeditions, buggy tours of the property, golfing, wine tasting, fishing... literally the list goes on and on. Rates start around $200 a night with a two night minimum on weekends - the rates are only slightly higher in during August for the wine harvest.

Ojai Rancho Inn ~ Hotel Crush

When I first saw images of the Ojai Rancho Inn in Ojai, CA (obviously), I immediately envisioned a girls trip filled with morning hikes, some serious pool time, afternoon bike rides and post margarita disco naps in the property's tee-pee... This 20 room, dog & family friendly,1950's roadhouse has been updated with a style that is the perfect blend of mountain mystic and Ojai bohemian but splashed with touches of timeless mid-century design. Considering it's just 90-minutes north of Los Angeles, with rates that start around $189, I'd say this motel makes for the perfect weekend getaway... or rent out the entire property to create a perfect intimate wedding venue. The couple behind Shelter Social Club really nailed it with this one.

From a retro shuffle board court,  to the airstream trailer, and the woven leather beach chairs - the property reminds me of the ACE hotel in palm springs, minus the hipsters and DJ'd pool parties. The property has perfect touches like handmade pendant lights from Heather Levine, in room art by Adam Pogue and jewelry designer Carly Margolis of All For the Mountain, Linus bikes for rent, and indigo tie dye curtains from Lookout and WonderlandIf the style vibe of the Ojai Rancho Inn could be bottled up - I bet it would be sold at the General Store in Venice. It's that spot on.

Corte della Maesta, Italy ~ Hotel Crush

I first traveled to Italy while I was still in High School - I remember being completely swept away by the culture, the wine (yea, my parents were liberal like that) and most of all, exploring it's walled cities and charming hill top towns. So it is no surprise that I've fallen head over hills, for Corte della Maesta - perched  on a mountain peak between Orvieto and Viterbo, Corte della Maestà is "an antique residence (aka small hotel) found in the suggestive valle di Civita di Bagnoregio, the silhouette of which rises up like some remote outpost accessible thanks only to a footbridge."... Hello, Heart Strings!

The newly renovated residence was formerly a Bishop's house, and has only five rooms, all decorated with antique pieces and vintage art. The design is so perfect - I'd figure I'd let the images speak for themselves. Lets explore this Italian gem room by room...Starting with my favorite room in the house...the Kitchen

The Abbess  ~ This room’s four-poster bed once belonged to the Abbess of a monastery (hence the room’s name) and is meant as a tribute to Stendhal’s ‘The Abbess Of Castro’.

Pool Time ~ 7 Amazing Infinity Pools

Condé Nast Traveler posted the most amazing photo gallery of the worlds best infinity pools this morning. Interesting timing, considering it finally feels a bit like Fall in LA, so it already has me nostalgic for summer. Today I'm day-dreaming about their selections and adding a few of my own to the list. One from a vacation rental I frequent in Sayulita, Mexico (here) and the ah-inspiring pool at the Rosewood Mayakoba, which was included in my Hotel Crush column (here).
